BC Ferries

I will never forget my first encounter aboard BC Ferries, my husband and I having landed in Vancouver International Airport; as new immigrants, heading to Victoria our new home city. We excitedly boarded the Pacific Coast-Line bus at the airport with all our personal belongings in 4 suitcases and of course our cameras hanging from our necks. Approximately 40 minutes later we were on the ship.

The 90 minute experience for first-time passengers is sensational - from Tsawwassen terminal on the mainland to Swartz Bay on the island. After the initial quick investigation of available facilities; which include various food options (the best of which is the ocean dining experience); kids zone; gift shop; staterooms; and video arcade, we headed for the outer deck to breathe in the scenery.

Don't forget your camera

Peaceful scenery

The sight takes my breath away, even still - twelve years later and I have no doubt it will for years to come.

“You've gotta be here!"

If you are exploring vacation options, consider BC Ferries.

They offer a variety of packaged trips that include stunning scenery; only experienced from the water and an unforgettable holiday with tons of perfect pictures and wonderful memories.
US Ferries

The approach by ferry from either Seattle on the US Clipper, or from Port Angeles on the COHO, brings you gently into Victoria’s downtown inner harbour and from a distance you will notice the old English Architecture of historic structures, and warehouse style buildings along its wharf.

These buildings are occupied today by various businesses, restaurants, coffee-shops, art displays and souvenir shops.

The US Clipper is a popular high-speed, daily passenger-only ferry, carrying visitors between the Seattle’s waterfront and Victoria’s inner harbour. The 2-3 hour cruise through the Puget Sound and across the Strait of Juan de Fuca is a great way to observe the splendour of the passing scenery.

Adventure travellers can decide on the seasonal San Juan ferry ride; this takes you on a 3.5 hour via Deception Pass and on to San Juan Islands’ whale watching tours.  San Juan located in the Puget Sound is the largest in the Archipelago – a chain of 172 islands which are renowned for rocky cliffs, beautiful beaches, forests, and gorgeous scenery.

Helijet International is to be congratulated for their sustained success and for attaining an unbelievable business milestone, serving over 2,000,000 passengers.
